These are my kids everyone...well 25 of the 27 total! We took a field trip to Borders Bookstore in Matteson, IL today and had quite the fun time. We all chose our favorite character from a book, wrote his/her name down on a nametag, wore the nametag around our necks all day, and were referred to by that character's name. So Ms. Walls became Lucy (from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe) for a few brief hours this morning. We got a tour of the bookstore (and how to locate everything in it), found many places on giant world maps, and even received cookies, lemonade, candy, and take-home goodie bags in the Cafe'. My little observant angels, of course, found all of the inappropriate pictures and words on various book and magazine covers. Leave it to the kids...and of course they make a HUGE deal out of it. Oh well...kids will be kids. We had fun though. To my friends who are teachers...go to www.fieldtripfactory.com and see about scheduling a FREE field trip to a local Borders Bookstore in your area. I'd say it was worth it.
PS: These kids may look sweet and innocent, but ask any teacher and they will tell you that looks can be VERY deceiving! :) I really do love all of my kids.
