That Time Again...

I had parent/teacher conferences this past Wednesday and Thursday. I only had three sets of parents that did now show, so that in and of itself was a record for me! My conferences went really, really well. It seems as if I get a little bit bolder each November when it's time for conferences, yet 100% of the parents support me, my expectations, and suggestions for improvement. I really felt God's presence throughout my conferences with each set of parents. Most teachers dread this time of year, but I have actually come to enjoy it. I liked the cartoon I found, although I can say that none of my parents tried pulling any crazy ideas like this one. :) I'm hoping to see improvements in my classroom when we all return next Monday.

Speaking of Monday, as of next Monday, I will have 29 students in my room (including 2 new students). One of the two new students is actually another former student of mine. I had the little girl in third grade, two years ago. She seems to be having difficulties cooperating and functioning in her current 5th grade classroom, so I am the teacher that was chosen to take her. I know God is placing her in my room for a reason, and I look forward to the challenge.

A new student that I received two weeks ago is homeless. :( Please pray for him and his family. He should be a 6th grade student, but was retained. He has been moved around numerous times, and he is one of six children in his family. My heart goes out to his family. It's absolutely amazing and mind-boggling to find out what these children are going through at such a young age.

I know God will take care of all of His children...
