Well, tomorrow is my 2nd of 3 formal evaluations by my Principal! I am ready to get them all over and done with. Tomorrow's lesson will involve writing a letter to Roberto Clemente's family. Clemente was a famous baseball player back in the early 70's who was the 11th major league player to reach 3,000 hits. Plus, he boarded a jet in December of 1972 to deliver supplies to people of need in Nicaragua after a terrible earthquake hit it's biggest city. Moments after the jet took off, it's engines blew up and crashed into the ocean. Clemente was never found. So anyway, my students will be writing a letter to Clemente's family, telling them why they should be proud of him. Then, they will also include reasons why their families should be proud of them too. I think the kids will have fun writing the letters. Wish me luck!!!
