*On to the good stuff...I have been really ancy to start potty training Trin. She has been showing great interest in the potty for quite a few months now. I originally thought I would just use a potty seat that sits on top of a regular toilet, but after having Trin try it out since the summer, I realized that she's just not big enough for that yet. She can't get herself on and off the toilet, and I want to make this as easy for her as possible. Plus, I want her to take ownership in being able to go and sit on the potty all by herself. So Trin and I made a trip to Babies R Us yesterday and we both agreed on the pink Baby Bjorn potty chair that you will see pictured below. After about 10-15 minutes of Trin being on the chair for the first time, I figured it might be a good idea to grab my camera and document the big moment...
*25-30 minutes on the potty chair...still nothing...but a very smiley Trin looks like she can last a bit longer...
*35-40 minutes on the chair...Can I please have a toy to help pass the time, Mommy?...
*Okay, after 45 minutes of sitting on the kitchen floor trying to entertain The Princess, I thought both she and I had had enough. What a trooper she was...she did not cry, fuss, or complain once during those 45 minutes. I was a little disappointed that not even a drop of pee came out...but it was only the first time on the potty chair...maybe another day...
*I thought along with the potty chair, Trin also needs to learn how to start feeding herself. I bought Trin her first set of "real" silverware...she did a really good job for today being the first time. After awhile, she got sneaky and started picking the food off of the fork with her fingers, but we'll keep practicing...
*Okay...so Trin has BIG news (and no people, she is not going to be a big sister...let me negate that thought that I know many of you would think...ahem). haha Anyway, Trin asked me a couple of times today if she could sit on her potty chair. The second time she sat on it...she POOPED!!! I was SO excited that of course I made the biggest, cheesiest deal out of it. She quickly caught on and started congratulating herself..."Good Girl," she said to herself. Don't worry, I didn't take a picture of the poop to post on my Blog. I trust you all know what it looks like already. ;) I am so happy with today's progress...

I give you big kudos for even trying to potty train her at 18 months! Braden is almost 2 1/2 and we haven't even started! Now that we are moved in and settled (that feels so nice to say!) Leif and I are going to try! Wish us luck, I hear potty training boys is hard! I hope Trin keeps up the good work!
Aww, good job Trin. She is growing up so fast.
Pappaw says to put some 'tickers' on those private parts... ha ha!!
GOOD GIRL, DOLL-BABY!! Gram and Pappaw are so very proud of you. When we come see you, you can make more poopies in the potty and we'll celebrate with you =)
